Through the pages of Cream magazine and via every search on cmdglobal.com, we aim to inspire every single professional involved in the buying and selling of advertising media in every corner of the world. Through the market-leading monthly title, M&M Europe, we serve the information needs of every global brand manager, agency and vendor, with trading information, people news, unique research and new business information. As the producer of the Venice Festival of Media we serve as an annual reminder to the global marketing industry of its responsibility to be innovative, dynamic and creative. To our clients we are open, dedicated and interesting and, through working creatively with them, aim to become a global leader in the provision of insight and new business opportunities to media vendors and advertising strategists worldwide.

 

A Brief Time Line

2002/3: Charlie Crowe leaves Emap to set up a consultancy helping media owners and agencies connect with their markets. Works on projects for TGI (WPP), WFA, Adidas, The Economist and Initiative Media.

2004: C Squared manages events for Nikkei and Eurosport and launches a global publication for Initiative. Extends consultancy work for a variety of media and advertising businesses. Work on the “Creative Media Database" begins. C Squared increases the number of IAA Events under its management and increases their profitability.

2005: This was the year C Squared began to develop its own products and move away from purely contract work. Cream magazine launches in 47 countries and the number of consultancy and publishing clients doubles – including work for MTV, Billetts, Financial Times and Discovery Networks, as well as four conferences for the IAA (International Advertising Association).

2006: Building on the success of Cream, C Squared launches the series of Cream Masterclasses, initially in New York, Moscow and Prague. While still engaged in consultancy work, C Squared pushes to promote its own proprietary products. This culminates in the launch of www.cmdglobal.com, the creative media database, after 18 months of research and IT development. Procter & Gamble and Aegis Group assist in the testing and first global subscribers include OMD Worldwide and Universal McCann Worldwide. Later in the year, C Squared announces the acquisition of the license to publish the leading magazine M&M Europe magazine from Emap PLC – to wide industry acclaim – and then announces the launch of the Venice Festival of Media – the world's first festival of media creativity and innovation – with Yahoo as the launch sponsor.

2007: After less than two years since the launch of Cream magazine, C Squared starts the year by concluding funding negotiations with the London Capital Fund. Then follows a restructuring of the business. Projected revenues are six times greater than those reported in the 2005 financial year. Over the same period, C Squared's headcount rises from 2 to 17 and sucessfully launched the first Venice Festival of Media with more than 400 attendees.
